Mould is not just unsightly but poses a direct threat to the health of you and your family. A primary cause of mould, as well as mildew, is lack of air circulation. Areas in your home such as the bathroom, shower room, kitchen and laundry are prone to humidity. Steam from cooking or showering, as well as the clothes dryer, creates the ideal environment for mould growth. One of the best ways to combat this problem is improving ventilation with the installation of a quality high flow extractor fan.
Extractor fans, also known as exhaust fans, help expel humidity from the room and better ventilate an area prone to mould growth.
Of course, the design of your room might make a wall fan impractical or unsightly. That’s why at Quickbit UK, we have a vast range of extractor fans suitable for installing in your ceiling or wall. We also carry a good selection of window exhaust fans. Our range includes some of the best names in exhaust extraction fans such as Vent Axia and top-selling Xpelair.

Choosing the right exhaust fan is important for safety. For obvious reasons, electricity and water can be a fatal combination. For this reason, the introduction of strict government regulations now divides a bathroom into 4 zones.
- Mains voltage may only be installed in zone 3
- SELV type fans are the only types permitted in zones 0, 1 or 2.
Regulations for kitchen installations are less restrictive compared to the bathroom or shower room. Kitchen requirements are more concerned with the air extraction rate. The minimal amount for air exhaust in a kitchen is 15l/s.
