Plastic Junction Boxes
Plastic Junction Boxes are quickly replacing older metal boxes in the construction of houses. They’re lightweight, cheap and simple to work with.
In a world where we are all trying to cut costs, it’s no wonder that plastic is replacing metal as the standard material for electrical junction boxes.
PVC boxes do not offer the protection metal boxes can offer in case of a fire. However, PVC, Bakelite and ABS offer one significant advantage and that is they do not conduct electricity.
Most forms of plastic moulded junction boxes have predesignated holes for fixing the box into position securely. Some options on the market come with cable connectors and/or fixing nails.
