Kidde Digital Interconnectable Carbon Monoxide alarm 230V
Ideal for new builds, re-wiring projects and property refurbishments, the Kidde 4MDCO is a mains powered carbon monoxide (CO) alarm that can be interconnected by wire with the Kidde Firex smoke and heat alarms. CO detectors are now a requirement by law and a landlords responsibility to have installed in all residential premises, warning against the deadly gas known as carbon monoxide and also providing a continuous monitoring of CO levels around the home. Fitted with a rechargeable lithium back-up battery, the Kidde 4MDCO has a 7 year sensor lifespan and provides a warning when the unit has reached the end of it’s life. CO detectors should be located on each level of the home, ideally close to fuel burning appliances and also sleeping areas.
The 4MDCO can be linked up with 24 other Kidde Slick and Firex mains devices (of which 18 can be initiating) including smoke, CO and heat alarms.
Main sources of carbon monoxide are :
- Clogged chimneys
- Cracked or loose boiler flue
- Improperly installed gas cooker, hob or hood
- Corroded or disconnected water heater vent pipe
- Gas or wood burning fireplaces
- Portable paraffin or gas heaters
Key features of the 4MDCO are:
- Sealed-in rechargeable lithium cell providing 7 years continuous operation in the event of a mains failure
- End of life warning after 7 years from initial power up
- Sensor – Electrochemical with de-ionised water electrolyte, sampling one every 15 seconds
- Button test – Stimulates the effect of CO at the sensor, checking electronics & sounder
- Digital display – Providing early warning of intermittent and low CO levels – Clearly showing FIRE or CO when linked with other mains powered alarms

50PPM – must alarm within 60-90 minutes
