Rotary Isolators are made as industrial switches for applications in warehouses, factories, garages and workshops etc. They have an ABS plastic construction so they are able to withstand daily wear and tear. Also, they are waterproof due to the IP65 rating.
Remember you can use 4 pole isolators for 3 pole applications; simply don’t use the 4th pole.
Below is a list of all the isolators we stock and supply;
- IS204: 20A 4 Pole
- IS254: 25A 4 Pole
- IS324: 32A 4 Pole
- IS404: 40A 4 Pole
- IS634: 63A 4 Pole
- IS804: 80A 4 Pole
- IS1004: 100A 4 Pole
The cable size required depends on the rating of the isolator you are using and also the rating of the circuit. Below are examples of cables ordinarily used in conjunction with the Rotary Isolators of similar current ratings;
- 20A 4 Pole: 1.5mm 3 Core or 4 Core SWA Cable
- 25A 4 Pole: 2.5mm 3 Core or 4 Core SWA Cable
- 32A 4 Pole: 4mm 3 Core or 4 Core SWA Cable
- 40A 4 Pole: 4mm 3 Core or 4 Core SWA Cable
- 63A 4 Pole: 10mm 3 Core or 4 Core SWA Cable
- 80A 4 Pole: 16mm 3 Core or 4 Core SWA Cable
- 100A 4 Pole: 25mm 3 Core or 4 Core SWA Cable
There are a lot of factors involved in identifying the correct cable to use so we recommend speaking to an electrician for further information. They will be able to consult the regs and give you a specific cable size so to avoid any health and safety issues.
